Chief Financial Officer
Position Overview:
The CFO has overall responsibilities for the organization and management of financial information
within the enterprise. He/She must also maintain a role as a record-keeper and advisor to senior
level staff in each of the individual companies, while reporting directly to the parent company CEO
and President. Additionally, as part of the Executive Team, the CFO will drive the strategic
financial growth of the larger enterprise.
Responsibilities:
• Provide fiscal data and counsel CEO and President in the financial strategies (short and long
term) planning.
• Treasurer – Maintain and oversee Corporate and Shareholder books.
• Overall responsibility for cash and tax planning for all companies
• Daily interaction with Presidents of each company, plus all corperate Executives
• Interaction with our financial institutions, insurance companies, attorneys, and accountants
(CPA).
• Continually develop, optimize, and maintain the firm’s financial processes, project
profitability reports and budgeting processes.
• Provide tax and regulatory oversight and ensure compliance.
• Investigate and make recommendations related to the protection of corporate assets.
• Human Resources administrative and oversight responsibilities, including but not limited to:
o Oversee, direct, and analyze employee benefits function
o Oversee responses to surveys by outside entities
o Benchmark and analyze compensation information
o Keep abreast of legal and regulatory matters as related to state and national labor laws.
• IT and Facilities administrative and oversight responsibilities, including but not limited
to:
o Work with IT Principal to develop annual budgets for hardware, software, and expenses.
o Oversee upgrades and enhancements to Deltek
Qualifications:
• Undergraduate degree in accounting or finance.
• MBA or masters degree in finance is preferred. A CPA is not required. We are looking more
for a management accountant, and not necessarily a financial accountant.
• Experience working for a Professional Services firm in a creative industry (design, film,
graphics, architecture) – the architectural field is highly preferred.
• Minimum of 10 to 15 years of full-time, relevant experience.
• Experience managing and developing accounting staff.
• Extensive knowledge of project accounting.
• Expert knowledge of accrual-based accounting. Knowledge of cash-based accounting is a bonus.
• Knowledge of Deltek Vision software.
• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel – advanced graphing techniques (visually represent
financial data), automating with macros, superpower functions, pivot tables, etc.
